Responsibilities

Committee Responsibility

1.
Encourage the children to develop a healthy attitude towards competitive sport.
2.
Ensure that the programme is interesting and stimulating. This applies both to the weekly programme and the overall programme.
3.
Welcome every new member. Each person has something valuable to offer and one such necessity cannot be purchased TIME.
4.
Manage the limited finances in such a way as to obtain maximum benefit but with safety the utmost consideration.
5.
Arrange regular training sessions so that the children may develop further skills in the varying activities.
6.
Conduct monthly meetings. Every parent is welcome to attend these to express different points of view.
7.
Be receptive to alternative views. There is not always one way of doing things.
Little Athletics aims to involve as many adults and children in worthwhile activities. Thus, responsibility rests in many areas to ensure the smooth, successful running of the programme.

For the Parents

1.
Bring your children to the Centre. Don't just drope them off, and call into pick up your family newsletter and to see if there are any notices to collect. If the child loses any clothing (hopefully it has the name on it) check the lost property box.
2.
Assist on a regular basis with the programme. It requires 60 adults EVERY WEEK to run the programme properly. It cannot be expected that the same people do the work week by week
3.
Enter nomination forms before the closing date.
4.
Take your turn in the Kedron Wavell Services Club Raffle programme. The support recieved is used to benefit every child of the Centre.
5.
Help out at working bees-the track and field areas must be maintained throughout the whole year.
6.
Ask if you want clarification to some point. Most people at the recording area are able either to supply the information or advise you on the person to see.
7.
Be Supporting in the children's efforts but do not expect them to perform above their ability. Encourage them to look for improvements in their own results rather than too much emphasis on being first.
8.
Attend Committee meetings. Your committe needs to know haw you want the Centre to run for the benifit of all the children.
9.
Maintain your children's own records. Although records are kept officially, each child must maintain his or her own personal record.
10.
Ensure That your children fully understand that it should not be necessary for other adults to discipline your children. Their behavour at Meetings is a reflection of your training.

Athlete's Responsibility

1.
Do your best and feel proud as your best grows better.
2.
Be a good sport. People admire a good sport far more than a boastful champion.
3.
Encourage your parents to be helpers - without them there would be no Little A's.
4.
Enter your nominations before time.
5.
Regard the adults as friends and treat them as you would your friends. They come along on Saturday to help you.
6.
Help keep your records up to date. It is easier to know if you are improving.
7.
Attend coaching sessions to train. Your coaches are not there to act as your parents and discipline you.
8.
Ensure that your behaviour does not embarrass your parents.
9.
Wear your Centre Uniform with pride and do only that which brings credit to Aspley Little A's.
